Scheduling MSU Equipment

In order to be in compliance with the University’s Operating procedures for Service Centers, we have adjusted our rates for instrumentation usage and services. These rates are based on utilization and actual cost of operation of the instruments or services rendered. We are working hard to track and control cost of operations and increase our utilization of equipment in support of research activities. Both of these factors will help to lower the fees that we have to charge.

I²AT uses the FOM (Facility Online Manager) platform for user registration, instrument reservation and usage tracking. This provides accurate accounting information for the determination of instrument rates and fees. Use the Book Now button to access FOM.

Step Three - Schedule the Equipment

Once you have registered and your account has been confirmed, you will receive an email notice confirming your approval. Once your account is confirmed, you can login to the scheduling system. You may schedule your whole project at once, or one session at a time. We will try our best to accommodate all scheduling requests. However, at times we might have to suggest alternative dates or times due to the volume of requests or compliance constraints.

Cancellation Policy

ALL cancellation requests must be made 24 hours in advance. We understand that particular experimental circumstances may not allow for a 24 hr advance notice. If this is the case, you must notify us at least 2 hr in advance. Not doing so will result in you being charged for the time you have reserved the instrumentation. You must cancel through the online scheduling system. Verbal cancellations may be made, but you must submit your cancellation online as well to avoid being charged for the time.
