Monday, October 21nd:
  • 9:00 AM-12:00 PM: Theory and Applications Electron source, EM lens, basic optics, electron matter interaction, interaction volume, characteristic.
  • 12:00 PM-12:30 PM: Lunch
  • 12:30 PM-5:00 PM: Sample Preperation Diamond saw, hot and cold mounting, polishing.
Tuesday, October 22nd:
  • 9:00 AM-12:00 PM: Hands-on SEM training. Focusing, stigmation, working distance, depth of focus, dead time, elemental analysis mapping (EDS), and quantification.
  • 12:00 PM-12:30 PM: Lunch
  • 12:30 PM-3:00 PM: Continue hands-on SEM training.
  • 3:00 PM-5:00 PM: Basic Preventitive Maintenance Changing filament, filament failure, vacuum pump maintence, baking, and aperture cleaning.
